Konstantin Kalinovich
onstantine Kalinovich is one of very few graphic artists on the post-Soviet territory who was awarded the honor to be a corresponding member of the Royal Society of Painters and Engravers of UK. He lives in a small Ukrainian town and creates etchings, which necessarily must be viewed through a magnifying glass. First of all, it should be done in order to be able to see how subtly and polish they have been made. Secondly, in order not to lose a single detail, because often a picture of notebook’s sheet size contains more information than some big painting. Details are very important: Constantine Kalinovich creates his own special phantasmagoric world, which is difficult to describe, though it looks surprisingly real.Constantine Kalinovich was born in Novokuznetsk, Russia, in 1959. He studied at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing (1986-1992). Since 1992 he has been a corresponding member of the Royal Society of Painters and Engravers of UK. He works in the field of painting, drawing, book illustrations, an author book. Since 1985, he has engaged in the creation of ex-libris. Currently he lives and works in Lugansk, Ukraine.
