Andrey Drozdov
ndrey Drozdov has been making artdolls for a long time and considers his work his main vocation. He graduated as an architect and worked on filmmaking ( made special effects and participated in the creation of films - fairy tales, "Red Flower", "Daughter of the forest king," "Cinderella 4x4") and on TV (he is known as an author of a few famous characters shown on governmental channels).
But in the last few years, Andrew's hands and heart belong to artdolls. His current characters are far away from reality, phantasmagoric, and often very complicated (and also quite large: many of them require not just a single shelf, but often a personal podium or at least a pedestal). But it does not prevent them from being interesting and pretty. Andrew creates Egoists, Pilots,Ffowlers, Canaries -lovers, Rabbits, Cyclops and Nautilus out of metal wire and papier-mache, processed by a special author's technology (so that material can easily be taken for both wood and solid metal). And sometimes a witty title is the only thread that connects his characters to our reality.
